As if the local library isn't cool enough with all the shelves of books and the fact that you can request any book in the system and it will be delivered to your branch, the Friends of the Library also has a small area of books for sale. Many are ex-library copies, but many aren't. Patrons donate books to the library all the time and many of them are placed in the book sale area that I can visit each time I go to the library. And as much as I LOVE the library, I don't like to give the books back. Eventually I do, though, so that I can avoid a "bad citizen" rap. But having the little book sale area to visit fills the need for me to take home books from the library that I can actually keep...forever, if I want to.
